Bringing Back the Classic Admin Experience: A New MinIO Docker Image

A helping hand for self-hosters and MinIO enthusiasts

As someone who’s worked with MinIO, I know how frustrating it can be when things change unexpectedly. Recently, MinIO stopped publishing official Docker images and prebuilt binaries, making it harder for users to manage their buckets, users, and policies through the browser. But thankfully, the community came to the rescue.

A developer forked the old fully-featured web UI, and I decided to build my own Docker image that includes all the features we’ve grown to love. My image is available for both x86_64 and ARM64, and it’s designed to provide a seamless experience for self-hosters and anyone who wants a reliable MinIO setup.

What’s in the image?

Here’s what you can expect from my MinIO Docker image:

• The latest MinIO server, built from source and updated daily
• The basic MinIO web console for easy access
• The classic full admin interface for managing buckets, users, policies, and access keys

It’s all bundled into one convenient container, and I’ve made sure to test it thoroughly to ensure a smooth experience. If you’re curious about the setup or want to take a look at the Dockerfile, it’s all available in my repository.

Why I created this image

I built this image primarily for fellow self-hosters and anyone who wants a hassle-free MinIO experience. If you’re tired of dealing with upstream changes and just want something that works, this image is for you. To get started, simply pull the image using the following commands:
